Our Archive Room is open to everyone. Here you can relax with one of our books about railways and local history, and look through our folders with information about the Kyle Line.

We’ve decorated the room with a number of archive photographs from the Skye and Lochalsh Archive Centre in Portree. Many of these are from the Duncan MacPherson collection.

Duncan MacPherson (1882-1966) was the local pharmacist and also a prolific photographer. His photographs capture the everyday life of Kyle, the West Highlands and Islands.
